Dec 30/06

Mike Turns 55

Dec 30/06 Mike is now 55 and can retire when he wants. A reason for celebration. We had the old Callowhill Gang in for the evening plus a few extras. Ron, Charlene and their children Kaylee and Avery, and Sid and Lorna showed up for the festivities. Paul and Jenn stayed for a while before heading out. Lots of food and laughs.

Merry Christmas from Allison and Fredericton

Here are a few pictures from our Christmas here at home and Fredericton. We got up and opened our gifts before heading off to Mom and Dad's with a cooler full of turkey dinner that I cooked the day before. We had dinner with them and spent the afternoon visiting with them. Paul went to his place to spend some time with Jen. She gave him an air hockey table. (This is what they did on their first date, I think) Johnnie, eat your heart out. It takes up half his living room. Today we are finally getting some snow, so Dad and Paul are piling in the last of the wood. That sould wear off some of the extra turkey.
Thanks for all the great gifts from everyone.

Clloser to Christmas than you think!

We had a pleasant suprise for Christmas this week as my cousin Nancy showed up for a visit. We spent Saturday morning at the farmers market, where Nancy tried out every fudge vendor's wares and then onto Costco to check out their free samples...sorry Nancy, but I thought that Mike had the corner on that market till I shopped with you!
We had a great visit together. Hope to see the whole family in the summer of 2007. Merry Chistmas.

We had a lovely supper tonight with Sterling, Florence,Mary(their exhange student from China) and her Aunt Annie who lives in Los Angeles. Annie brought a spicey Chinese potatoes and celery /beef stirfry and I added steak, rice, vegetables and for dessert we had apple-cheese torte and sampled Mike's fruitcake.
Annie is a hard woman to keep out of the kitchen. We are all invited to her home in Los Angeles. She works in Chinese medicine. It was a fun night getting to know each other. I must have beet thanked 25 times!! She returns to LA tomorrow. Mary is here till January semester is over. She hopes to attend university in Canada next year, so I'm sure we will see her again.
